DURHAM- Dana Ray Hurley, 63, of Durham passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015. He was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late Coley Hurley and Daisy Glenn Hurley. He worked for Auto Craft Upholstery, was an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed custom cars. Dana was preceded in death by his companion of 17 years, Eula Murray Pollock; sister, Barbara Brown; brothers, Raphael Hurley, Alfred “Sonny” Hurley and Norman Hurley; step-son, Danny Pollock.
He is survived by sister, Agatha Johnson; brother, C.R. Hurley; Papa Dana’s chosen family, daughters, Deborah Clayton, Amanda Porter and husband Brian; grandchildren, Morgan Porter, McKenzie Porter, Tonya Pollock Ferguson, Travis Pollock, Jonathan Clayton, Alison Clayton; great grandson, Chandler Ferguson.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Pastor Ernest Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be, Donnie Hancock, Alfred Hurley, Jr., Doug Brown, Brian Porter, Jimmy Whicker and Mike Clark.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 2 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable. Online condolences can be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
