Daniel Wilson Woods

DURHAM- Mr. Daniel Wilson Woods, 67, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021.

Mr. Woods was born on September 23, 1953 to the late Jess and Euva Mae Woods. Daniel worked for Bristol Myers for over 20 years, in Iraq for 18 years as a contractor and on mail mission. He was his daughter’s hero, a strong and independent man. Daniel had so much love, guidance, encouragement and protection for his family. He was a hard worker, working 2-3 jobs for years. He was stern but funny, mischievous and very hands on, affectionate and loving husband, father and grandpa. He took great pride and enjoyment working in his yard. He loved pomegranate hot tea and had tea twice a day.  He loved getting pedicures every week. He enjoyed riding his Harley to the flea market, Goodberry’s, to the mountains, bike rallies at all the Harley shops and Bike week myrtle beach with his friends. He was wild, fun and free in his middle years, but settled down to marry Margie in the Philippines October 30, 2007. He was happy having love and companionship in his later years. He enjoyed traveling all over, but Thailand was a favorite of his. Daniel loved his daughter’s little Yorky, which he nicknamed bad ass Finley, Papa’s little boy. He always had treats for Finley when he would visit his daughter’s office. He will forever and always be missed and loved by his family and friends, but they will cherish so many memories they all had the pleasure of sharing with him. Until we meet again, we know he is our Guardian Angel watching over us.

Mr. Woods is survived by his wife, Margilina Sabuero Woods; daughter, Kristin Woods Matthews (Christopher); step-son, J.R.; step-daughters, Jenelle and Mary Jo; grandchildren, Danielle, Christopher “C.J.”, Samantha, Carter Matthews; aunt, Frances Hudson.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Hudson Funeral Home.
