Ms. Darthy Dudley Westbrook, 72 of Creedmoor, went to be home with her Heavenly Father on April 12, 2015.Born to the late Arthur Franklin Dudley and Elizabeth Hazel Dudley in Sampson County. Ms. Westbrook moved to Durham with her family and retired from Sears. She attended Bethel Christian Center until her health no longer allowed her to worship with her church family. She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Earl” Westbrook, Sr. She leaves behind to celebrate her life her sons, James E. Westbrook Jr. and Elbert “Eddie” Westbrook (Pattie Dillard) of Creedmoor, daughter, Brenda Lopez Majure of Durham, and granddaughter, Carla Lopez (Seth) Hardiman of Durham. She also leaves behind her cherished two great-grandsons, Maddox O. Hardiman and Keegan C. Hardiman who brought her immense joy in her last years. Her surviving siblings are May (Robert) Jackson, Arthur Dudley, Hazel Rackley, Linda Dudley, Deborah McClain, Jean McClain, Jean Turner, Kathy Meyers, and Rachel Dudley of Sampson County, Don Dudley of Swansboro, Naomi Smith (Walt Green) of Sylva, Johnny Dudley of Virginia, brother-in-law, Morris Westbrook, special niece, Barbara ( Timmy) Blackburn and many other nieces, nephews, and in-laws that she loved. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 17th at 2 p.m. at Bethel Christian Center. The family will receive visitors on Friday from 1 to 2 p.m., before the service at the church.Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be A. H. Freeman, Carlos Lopez, Ray Westbrook, Larry Westbrook, Jerry Blackburn and Steve Street.
