David Wesley Bryant

David Wesley Bryant, 68, of Durham, North Carolina peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023.  He was born in Forsyth County, NC on July 30, 1955 to Johnny and Georgie Bryant.

Mr. Bryant worked for over 40 years for Duke University as a Superintendent in Facilities Management until his recent retirement.  In his younger years he enjoyed tinkering with cars and getting them to run again.  He was also a skilled craftsman building Adirondack chairs, swings, and decks.  David loved exploring the backwoods of the mountains and Geo/caching with his family.

David will be remembered as a loving family man who was very caring.  He will be deeply missed by those blessed to have known him.

Mr. Bryant is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Bryant; daughter, Elizabeth Kaye Bryant and brother, Randy Bryant.

David is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sharyn Bryant; mother, Georgie Bryant; daughter, Shannon Bryant (Dale Kositzke); sons, Jeffery Bryant and Joshua Bryant (April); brother, Steve Bryant; sister-in-law, Jo Anne Bryant and numerous other loving family members and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at First Pentecostal Church of Durham, 2008 W. Carver St., Durham, NC 27705.  The family will receive friends prior to the service starting at 1:00 P.M.  Interment will be at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Durham, NC.  Officiating will be Rev. Nathaniel Urshan.
