David Wayne Lowe

DURHAM Mr. David “Wayne” Lowe, 72, of 711 Valetta Drive, died on Tuesday, February 4, 2014.
Mr. Lowe was a native and lifelong resident of Durham. He served in the U. S. Army Airborne and retired after 25 years from IBM Corporation. He was a member of Lowes Grove Baptist Church. He was a member of the Amran Shrine, Bahama Masonic Lodge and the American Legion Post 416. Wayne was always giving of himself never expecting anything in return. He was preceded in death by his biological mother, Christine Whitaker, father, David “Mack” Lowe and his first wife, Linda Lowe.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Dianne Lowe; his mother, Gladys Lowe Ribet; two daughters, Melissa Lowery (Tim) of Roxboro and Deborah Hempel (Alan) of Stafford, Va.; one brother, James Lowe of Durham; one sister, Fayedean Spencer of Durham; two grandchildren, Josh Lowery and Christopher Carden.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Lowes Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Forest Gale will officiate Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home, 711 Valetta Drive. Flowers are acceptable or donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
