DURHAM- Mr. David “Wayne” Page, 54, passed away Tuesday December 18, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer.Mr. Page was born October 21, 1964 to Bobby and Susie Page in Durham, NC. He was a firefighter for the Durham City Fire Department and retired May 1, 2018 after sixteen years of service. Wayne was an avid motorcycle rider who loved going to the lake and beach. He also enjoyed camping and being around friends. Wayne was always willing to help anyone in need and was a very giving person. He will always be remembered as a loving husband and father who cared deeply about everyone. Wayne will be deeply missed by his family, friends and the brotherhood at the Fire Department.Mr. Page is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mendy Page; daughter, Victoria Page; father, Bobby Page and wife Gail; mother, Susie Page; loving companion, Bandit and other loving family members and friends.Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Jeff McCarthy, Chaplain Shawn Field and Captain Terence Smith. A visitation will be held one-hour prior from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church.Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions can be directed to the North Carolina Fallen Firefighters Foundation, P.O. Box 68 Bahama, NC 27503 or Durham Fire Department Flower Fund, 2008 E. Club Blvd. Durham, NC 27704.
