SWANNANOA- Mrs. Dawn Maria Cordell, 55, of 321-A Fountain Way, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017.
Dawn was born in Asheville, the daughter of the late Talmadge Wesley Hall and Gladys Nix Hall. She graduated from Charles D. Owen High School.
She was most recently employed by the NC State Veterans Home in Swannanoa as the head cook, morning shift.
Dawn loved many things, including crafting; watching hummingbirds, wild turkeys, and bears outside her home with her Ronnie; her flower beds; and fishing at Lake Fontana, where she enjoyed happy times with her family and where her ashes will be scattered.
She was known for her compassion and touched countless lives with her kindness (and her cooking). She was dearly loved in return.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Ronnie Cordell; siblings, Ann Craig and husband, Glen of Swannanoa, Pat Hinegardner and husband, Allen of Asheville, Benny Hall and wife, Pat of Fairview, Carol Robinson and husband, John of Durham, and Beverly Jenkins and husband, Ken of Swannanoa, as well as numerous nieces and nephews that she adored and loved very much.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Online condolences can be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
