DURHAM Mrs. Delma Lou Gentry Holsonback, 88, a former resident of Durham, died on Thursday, August 21, 2014.
Mrs. Holsonback was born in Person County, to the late Bill Gentry and Lovie Sue Clayton Gentry. She retired from D. C. May as a seamstress and was the biscuit maker at Cozy’s Kitchen. She was a member of Horton Road Free Will Baptist Church.
She was survived by four sons, Ira McCarson and wife, Pat of Timberlake, Ronnie Holsonback of Timberlake; Randy Holson back and fiancée , Cheryl of Wilmington and Raymond Holsonback and wife, Stacie of Timberlake; three daughters, Betty Whaley of Timberlake and Bonnie Cates and husband, Floyd of Timberlake; five brothers, Monroe Gentry of Roxboro, Thomas Gentry of Florida, John Louis Gentry of Virginia, Wesley Hamlett of NC and Bobby Gentry of Hillsborough; one sister, Pauline Carlton of Roxboro and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Ira Victor Holsonback; son-in-law, Tommy Whaley and sister, Janie Braxton.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Her son Mr. Ira McCarson will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Randy Holsonback, Tyler Holsonback, Brandon Holsonback, David McBroom, Matthew McCarson and Tim Holsonback.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home 156 Crystal View Drive in Timberlake. Flowers are acceptable.
