Deral West Hamilton, Jr.

DURHAM- Mr. Deral West Hamilton, Jr., 77, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020.

Mr. Hamilton was born on November 26, 1942 to Deral and Frances Hamilton in Durham, NC. He graduated from Durham High School and attended East Carolina University. Deral worked for 25 years with A&P Grocery Stores, then retired from Byrds Grocery Store in Wellons Village. He was a history buff and enjoyed military model vehicles. Deral was very knowledgeable of trains and loved reading. He was a hardworking man who loved his family dearly.

Mr. Hamilton was preceded in death by his parents, Deral Hamilton and Frances Inscoe Hamilton White, and his wife, Barbara Atkins Hamilton.

Mr. Hamilton is survived by his daughter, Amy Bunn (David) of Durham, NC; step-son, Pat McDowell (Peggy) of Durham, NC; brother, Kent White (Robin) of Aurora, CO; sister, Lynn Hamilton (Jerry Byman) of Greensboro, NC; and grandchildren, Billie McDowell, Elizabeth Bunn, and Isabelle Bunn.
