Dewey Thomas Reams, Sr.

DURHAM Mr. Dewey Thomas Reams, Sr., 86, of Durham, died on Sunday, April 23, 2017.
Mr. Reams was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late James Mac Reams and Lilly Markham Reams. He was a member of Lowes Grove Baptist Church where he taught the Young Men’s Class for 33 years. In his earlier years he was a Durham Police Officer. He worked for Meadow Gold Dairy and retired from Rick Hendricks in Durham. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Faipler Reams; brothers, James and Bennie Reams and a sister, Ruth Cross.
He is survived by his son, Dewey Reams, Jr. and wife, Michele of Durham; granddaughter, Erin Reams.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Lowes Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Woody Freeze will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Jose Luis Sosa, Mike Dampier, David Hutson, Jimmy Adams, Jerry Goodwin and Vic Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be Cotton Baker and the Lowes Grove Young Men’s Class.
