Donald F. “Don” Dixon

Durham Mr. Donald “Don” Fate Dixon, 77, of Durham, died on Saturday, July 1, 2017.

Mr. Dixon was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late Fate Alvin Dixon and Ruby Barbee Dixon. He retired after over 15 years from the American Tobacco as a watchman. He loved classic cars, enjoyed attending car shows and was an avid Duke fan. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Merle Dixon, Lewis Dixon and one sister, Elizabeth Dixon Ellis.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Freeman Dixon; children, Donald W. Dixon, Diane Dixon Procise and David Dixon; sister, Cheryl Dixon Yorks; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Procise, Lauren Dixon Rich, S. Keith Procise, Meredith Dixon, Meghan Dixon, Dalton Dixon, Madison Dixon; two great-grandchildren, Emma Rich and Isabella.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to APS, 2117 E.
