Donald “Don” Boyd

Durham- Donald Dewey Boyd, 77, of Durham passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016. He was the son of the late George Dewey Boyd and Vera Proffitt Boyd. Don proudly served his Country in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a former employee of General Electric and Micro Electronic Center of North Carolina. Don later pursued his dream of owning a Charter Fishing Boat at Carolina Beach. He was a very skilled woodworker.
Don is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of 48 years, Linda Boyd; brother, Neil Boyd and wife Sharon of Arden, NC; nieces, Debbie Stewart of Leicester, NC; and Christina Hunt and husband Rich of Freeland Maryland.
Service will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum, 7501 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, NC. Reverend Forest Gale will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 21, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your local A.S.P.C.A. in Don’s Name. Online condolences can be made to www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
