DURHAM Mr. Donald Earl Lassiter, 75, a former resident of Durham, died on Friday, March 29, 2013.Mr. Lassiter was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late William P. Lassiter and Flozy Tilley Lassiter. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He worked for Durham Hosiery and retired from Wright’s Machinery. He was an avid Carolina fan.He is survived by his three sons, Wayne Lassiter and wife, Melissa, David Lassiter and wife, Kim, Mark Lassiter; daughter, Mary Ann Lassiter Blackburn; eight grandchildren, Bradley Wayne Lassiter, Bryan Allan Lassiter, Christopher Stephen Lassiter, Catherine Lassiter Penczak, Jeremy Donald Sutton and Chelsea Danielle Corbett, Samantha Lassiter Bowen, Joshua David Lassiter and six great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor James Bo Mullins. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Sutton , Josh Lassiter, Sean Penczak, Cecil Corbett, Barry Lassiter and Kyle Bowen.The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home.
