Donald Wayne Eubanks

Durham-Donald Wayne Eubanks, 77, of Durham died on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 after a lengthy illness and injuries sustained from a recent fall. He was the son of the late Wilburt Eubanks and Lessie Carver Eubanks. He was a Veteran of the US Army where he served at Thule Greenland AF Base. He retired from IBM and an avid Duke fan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Reba Hill Eubanks.He is survived by two daughters, Juli Bass (Don) of Clayton; Donna Weatherly (Reid) of Elon; one son, Derek Eubanks (Linda) of Durham; two sisters, Elizabeth Strickland of Stanton, CA; Laura Capps of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren, Carolann Bass, Sarah Bass, Emily Eubanks, Matthew Weatherly, Kerri Weatherly, Brian Eubanks, Megan Weatherly.Graveside services will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Maplewood Cemetery . Dr. J. Barry Goodman will officiate. Flowers or donations can be made to the Duke Children’s Hospital, 2301 Erwin Rd., Durham, NC 27710 or Duke Hospice, 4321 Medical Park Dr., Suite 101, Durham, NC 27704. There is no home set up, the family suggest food donations to be taken to the needy or a family struggling with illness. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Carver Living Center, especially Mrs. Dixie Bell, all the people that came to visit dad while he was ill and Hudson Funeral Home.
