Doris Ellen Athey

BAHAMA- Mrs. Doris Ellen Athey, 86, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at Hock Family Pavilion.
Mrs. Athey was born on April 16, 1931 in Shenandoah County, VA to the late William and Mattie Burnshire. Mrs. Athey was an Administrative Assistant for the Federal Government, The Department of the Navy and EPA in RTP. She attended Bethesda Baptist Church.
Mrs. Athey is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Franklin Athey; brother, William Burnshire and granddaughter, Michelle JoAnne Bishop.
Mrs. Athey is survived by her daughter, Patricia Martin and husband Scott of Bahama, NC; brothers, Eddie Burnshire and Thomas Burnshire both of Woodstock, VA; sister, Pollyanna Hepner of Woodstock, VA; great-granddaughters, Brittney Michelle Hedden and Kaylee Marie Hedden; great-great-granddaughter, Arya Rose Pierce.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Pastor Farrington.
