Doris Britt Murray

DURHAM Mrs. Doris Britt Murray, 89, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, March 2, 2018.
Mrs. Murray was born in Wayne County, the daughter of the late Charlie Britt and Bessie Alexander Britt. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church where she attended Sunday School and Primetimers. She worked for AMP Electronic Company but spent most of her life as a homemaker. She enjoyed working in her yard, flowers, traveling and bowling with Ralph. Doris loved spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph J. Murray; son, Ralph B. Murray; brother, C. A. Britt and sister, Eloise B. Gibbs.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca M. “Becky” Murray; grandchildren, Wade Anderson III, Joshua Anderson, Shannon Murray (Cristy), and  Stacey Murray Pelfrey (Terry); great-grandchildren, Brady Murray, Lear Murray, Jake Pelfrey and Savannah Pelfrey.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church. Rev. Jonathan Barbee will officiate. Burial will be in Raleigh Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Rex Godley, Gene Edwards, Shannon Murray, Ken White, Ray Watson and Ken Maynor. Honorary pallbearers will be Wade and Josh Anderson.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m., before the service at Bethesda Baptist Church. Flowers are acceptable or donations can be made to Bethesda Baptist Church, 1914 S.
