Duel Bennett “Ben” Wall

DURHAM- Mr. Duel Bennett Wall (Ben) died peacefully at home on Thursday, September 13, 2018. He was born on October 5, 1946 to the late Duel Sexton and Barbara Wall. A lifelong Durham resident, Ben was widely known for his generous spirit and heart of gold. He took great pride in his years of service as a volunteer fireman at Bethesda Fire Station and his church mission trips to Costa Rica.

Ben’s career began at his parents’ company Piedmont Communications in Durham. In 1989, he recognized the opportunity in cellular and launched TowerComm Inc in Raleigh. He retired from the company in 2009.

Ben is survived by his loving wife Susan Crain Wall, sons Steven and Vince, granddaughter Lauren, great-grandson Carson, his mother Barbara, brother Erin and sisters Vicki Wall Anderson and Holly Wall Cotton.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Lake View Funeral Home Chapel, 5000 N Illinois St, Fairview Heights, IL 62208. Officiating will be Deacon Dennis Vander Ven. Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens.
