Dwight C. Walls

HILLSBOROUGH- Dwight C. Walls, 88, passed away unexpectedly Thursday January 5, 2017 at Duke Hospital.
Dwight was born and raised in Harnett County. He was educated in the Harnett County schools. Dwight served his country proudly in World War II as a Corporal in the United States Army. Dwight was a flooring specialist owning his own company for a number of years. He also worked at Duke for fifteen years and retired from Duke in 1996. Dwight was a loving and dedicated husband and father and will be deeply missed.
Dwight is survived by his sons Craig Walls (Judy), and Reid Walls (Brenda); brother, Billy Walls (Carol); sister, Snowdrop Crowder (Dale), Katie Head; grandchildren, Wally Walls (April), Wendy Boyer (Joe); greatgrandchildren, Trey, Corey, Raelyn, Erica, and Haley; great-great grandchildren, Ace and Jackson.
Dwight is preceded in death by his wife Marie Walls and parents Sherwood and Esther Walls. With deepest gratitude. The Walls family would like to thank Debra Bryant for her loving and dedicated care for the last two years.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 11, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. A visitation will be held one hour prior from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Officiating will be Chaplain Tom Hehenberger of Duke Home Care and Hospice. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Mike Mitchell, Hugh Norfleet, Al Edens, Billy Pittman, Roddy Porter, Rusty Foushee, Norman Lee, and Ken Hamm.
