E.C. “Al” Alcantara

DURHAM- E.C. “Al” Alcantara, 85, of Durham passed away on Monday, November 30, 2015. He lived in Durham for 10 years coming from Ocean City, Maryland, the son of the late Cyril Alcantara and Josephine Sobieski Alcantara. Mr. Alcantara was a member of the Elks Club in Ocean City, MD, Lion’s Club in Bel-Air, MD and the 50-50 Club in Durham. He was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Alcantara was a loving husband and father. He was President of Eastern Stainless Steel in Essex, MD. Mr. Alcantara was preceded in death by his sister, Charlotte Szukiewicz and a nephew Jimmy Szukiewicz.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Doris Alcantara; son, Victor Alcantara; daughter, Joyce Alcantara Knox; grandchildren, Courtney Mills, Morgan Sears and husband Brent; nieces and nephews, JoAnn Nugent, Raymond Szukiewicz, Richard Szukiewicz and JC Szukiewicz.
