Edith Adcock Brantley

Edith A. Brantley, 94, of Timberlake, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 23rd at the Hock Family Pavilion. She was a homemaker who loved her family and was a positive influence on her family. Working in the daycare at Calvary Baptist Church gave her such pleasure, as did teaching Sunday School. Her desire was to see the completion of the renovation and expansion of her current church at Antioch Baptist. She was fondly known as “Granny B”. Poor eyesight deprived her of personally reading the Holy Bible, her favorite book. Surviving are three daughters Faye Boyd, Timberlake, Hulda Creech (Kenneth), Garner and Sonja White, Timberlake; a son, Walter Brantley (Linda), Chandler, Arizona; a daughter-in-law, Annie Brantley, Cary; a sister, Lovie Thompson, Siler City; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Brantley was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Walter Brantley; a son, William Brantley; and a granddaughter, Kenna Creech.Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. Dr. David Chambers. The family will receive visitors from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hudson Funeral Home. The family thanks the staff of Hock Family Pavilion in Durham for the wonderful and compassionate care given to her.
