Edith Reardon Lawson

Durham- Edith Reardon Lawson, 87, of Durham passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016. She was the daughter of the late John B. Reardon and Ellen McLean Ferguson. Edith retired as an Office Manager for Southern Bell. She was a member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School to young people and elderly women. Edith taught Real Estate Classes at Durham Tech for several years and did appraisals on homes. She also did 5K runs, very active in fitness and exercising and enjoyed traveling. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Elder Earnest Ferguson; brothers, Howard McLean Reardon, John B. Reardon, Jr., Carl M. and Clyde T. Reardon; sisters, Mary Helen and Mildred E. Reardon.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gerald Lawson; daughters, Cam Lawson Richard (Randy) of Granville Co.; Debbie Bullock of Reidsville; brother, James R. Reardon of Hurdle Mills; sisters, Lena Stefansson of Indiana and Sue E. Grady of PA; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Durham Memorial Baptist Church. Dr. Gerald Goodwin and Reverend Ed Denton will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at Durham Memorial Baptist Church.
