Durham: Edna E. Davis, 98, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2024 at her home. 

Edna was born June 1, 1925, in Durham County to William and Pearl Elliott. She graduated from Mills High School in Louisburg April 13, 1943. Edna worked at Sears in Durham for 42 years until her retirement in 1989.

Edna was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and the Agape Bible Class. She enjoyed traveling with the Joy Club, traveling to the Holy Land and many other places.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents William and Pearl Elliott; her husband Dee W. Davis; her sisters Aileen McGriff, Virginia Bennett, and Peggy Thomerson; nephew Donald Bennett. 

She is survived by her sister; Bobbie Dampier (husband Lawrence); nieces, BJ Perez and Deborah Bennett; nephew, Michael Dampier (Kim); great nephew, Robert Bennett; niece Dara Bennett; great-great nephew Zackary Bennett. 

Graveside services will be held on March 5, 2024 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Pastors Marc Francis and Shay Reyner with music by Al Huffman. The family will receive friends after the service.
