DURHAM-Edward Harrison Davis, 79, of Durham died on Thursday, December 1, 2011. He was the son of the late Harrison Davis and Flora Mae Chappell Davis. Mr. Davis served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a machine operator for American Tobacco and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.He is survived by Dorothy Davis of Durham; one son, Michael Edward Davis (Alice) of Cary; two daughters, Diane Detweiler (Dale) of Durham; Kathy Douglass (Sherwood) of Londonderry, New Hampshire; one sister, Shirley Davis Barrow (Jack) of Rougemont; seven grandchildren, Brittany Broughton, Chelsea Harris, Kendall Oakley, Shea Janney, Blake Douglass, Kayla Davis, Dylan Davis, nine great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Todd Going will officiate. Burial will be in Markham Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Ben Broughton, Kobie Broughton, Shea Janney, Tommy Janney, Mike Davis, Thomas Pennell, Blake Douglass.The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home.
