Edward J. Jernigan, Sr.

Edward J. Jernigan, Sr., 59 of Durham, North Carolina suddenly passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025. He was born in    St. Pauls, North Carolina on March 28, 1965 to Shirley Britt who precedes him in death.

Mr. Jernigan worked as a Paver Operator for over 30 years, paving many roads throughout the Triangle. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching the Dallas Cowboys most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. 

Mr. Jernigan will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather who was a dedicated and caring man with a big heart and tenacious spirit.

Mr. Jernigan is survived by his daughter, Jodie Jernigan and her husband Curtis Pillsbury; sons, Edward “Eddie” Jernigan, Jr., Willie Jernigan and Dakota Jernigan; grandchildren, Aieden Jernigan, Ryan Jernigan, Victoria Jernigan, Kolton Godwin,      Emmy Boyd, Stormi Pillsbury and King Pillsbury and other loving family members.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Hudson Funeral Home, 211 S. Miami Blvd., Durham, NC 27703. The family will receive friends prior to the service starting at 3:30 P.M. Officiating; Pastor Paul Leitzell.
