DURHAM Mrs. Effie Fletcher Sherron, 86, of Creedmoor, died on Tuesday, September 6, 2011.Mrs. Sherron was born in Durham to the late David Wiley Fletcher and Lena Creech Fletcher. She was a homemaker and an active member of Olive Grove Baptist Church in Creedmoor where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the Northside Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Allen Sherron and a great-granddaughter, Julie Murphy.She is survived by her son, Ray F. Sherron( Emma); three daughters, Ellen Poe (Alex), Janice Rogers (Charlie) and Mary Sue Carper (Chuck); one brother, Eugene Fletcher; one sister, Ruby Edwards; granddaughter, Cindi Murphy (Rick); grandsons, Kenny Rogers, CJ Carper, US Navy (Erika), Robbie Poe, Scott Rogers (Jannon), Thomas Sherron and 7 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 am at the Olive Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Kevin Griggs and Chaplain David Fox will officiate. Burial will be in the Sherron Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m., before the service at the church and other times at the home.
