Erma "Jean" Emory Pate

Mrs. Erma “Jean” Emory Pate, 91, passed away Monday, June 19, 2023.  Jean was born on April 16, 1932, in Durham, North Carolina to the late Walter T. Emory and Alma Daniel Emory. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Otis David Pate, and brothers, James Emory and Dwight Emory.

Mrs. Pate was a member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church. She retired as a clerk from American Tobacco Company.  Jean will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved taking great care of her family.  She will be deeply missed by everyone blessed to have known her.

Mrs. Pate is survived by her son, David B. Pate (Kim); sister, JoAnn Thomas (Eddie); grandchildren, Christopher Pate and Matthew Pate (Taylor); nieces, Angela Morris (Tom), Kelly Celis (Jose), Anna Rosati and Marilyn Heiser (Dick); nephews, Daniel Emory (Venicia), Joel Emory (Helen), Brian Emory (Julie) and other loving family members.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Hudson Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends prior to the service at 1:00 P.M. Officiating will be Rev. Hugh O’Shields.  Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
