Ervin Warren White, Jr.

E. W. White, Jr. died Monday, March 29, 2010 at his residence after a brief battle with cancer. He was a World War II veteran and was previously employed with Security Builders, Inc. as a painting contractor. A funeral service will be held 11 am Friday at Hudson Funeral Home. Interment will be at 1 pm, Friday at Gray Rock Methodist Church Cemetery in Kittrell. He was preceded in death by his brother William Joseph “Billy” White, Sr. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, E.W. celebrated 64 years with the love of his life, Mae, while being a proud father of his son, Eddie and daughter-in-law Barbara. He was “Papa” to the greatest joys in his life, his granddaughters, Gina Byrd and husband Roger, Robin Midyette and husband Michael and Dana Edwards and husband David. Papa “Dub” loved his great-grandchildren, Macy, Christian and London Byrd, Hope and Shayne Midyette and Morgan and Ty Edwards and enjoyed each moment and every memory. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Louise White as well as several nieces and nephews. His greatest accomplishment was turning his life completely to Jesus Christ and being baptized in Jesus name for the remission of his sins. He will never be forgotten. The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm on Thursday at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
