Ethel Chambers Cash

February 4, 1933 — August 25, 2015

DURHAM- Ethel Chambers Cash, 82, of Durham passed peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Percy and Etta Chambers. She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 38 years, Troy M. Cash, brother, Lee Chambers, sister, Elizabeth Harris. Ethel graduated from Mangum High School in 1951. She was retired from Sperry Rand/Honeywell where she worked for over 30 years.
Ethel loved her family unconditionally and adored each and every grandchild and great-grandchild, most importantly she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Left to cherish her memory, daughter, Shirley Painter (Donnie) of Durham; son, Troy D. Cash MSGT (Ret.), USAF (Kim) of Cary; daughter, Janice Parker (Luke) of Deerfield WI; daughter, Laurie Russ (Bennie) of the home, 8 grandchildren, Joy Teasley (Ryan), Major Jesse Cash USAF Vandenberg AFB, CA, Kenny Cash (Sabrina), Shane Parker (Reeanna Olson), Keri Goss (Justin), Dylan Parker, Meghan Russ (Jordan Savage) and Louis Parker, 5 great-grandchildren, Caleb and Jacob Cash, Olivia Teasley, Ella and Levi Goss, sisters, Lillie Mae Zimmerman (Earl), Gladys Albert (Connie), brothers, Lewis Chambers, John Hugh Chambers (Kathy), Thomas Chambers (Barbara), lifelong friend and sister-in-law, Ellen Cash Thornton and best buddy Fay Watkins Wright, many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Ethel’s gentle, sweet spirit will live on in the hearts of all her loved ones.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Pastor Denver Shelton and Pastor Greg Allison will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Ryan Teasley, Justin Goss, Jordan Savage, Melvin Dickens and Robby Russ. Honorary pallbearer. Major Jesse Cash USAF.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable or memorials can be made to First Assembly of God, 1034 Hamlin Rd., Durham, NC 27704.
