Eugene Rudd

DURHAM- Mr. Eugene Elvin Rudd, 68, of Durham died on Saturday, May 4, 2013. He was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of Harold Elvin Rudd and Estelle Ray Rudd. He retired after twenty five years of service from GTE as an Installer/Repairman. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church for 37 years, he loved his friends and his Church family.He is survived by his wife Marie R. Rudd who he married on August 17, 1965, two daughters, Regina R. Philpot of Durham; Lisa R. Hall and husband Joey of Puyallup, Wa.; two sisters, Katherine Mann of Durham; and Ruby Williams of Durham; six grandchildren, Quentin Philpot, Morgan Philpot, Trevor McCants, Marisa Lomas, Steven Lomas and Kariss Marie Hall. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Bible Baptist Church. Rev. Greg Allison and Rev. Jimmy Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Tom Tunstall, Larry Billings, Charlie Weaver, Roger Wade, Mike Lynch and Mike Beasley. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Liertz, Wayne Townsend, Vinny Salnseverino, Lee Wiggins, and Joe Revill. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
