Eula Murray PollockMrs. Eula Murray Pollock departed this life on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at the Duke Hospice Hock Family Pavillon. Mrs. Pollock was born in Nash County to the late George and Mecie Murray, moving permanently to Durham County at the age of 18. She was formerly employed by the American Tobacco Co. for 35 years. Upon retiring, she devoted her time to others. She was a constant visitor to countless patients in local rest homes where she polished nails, read books or just visited. She was a Pink Smock volunteer at Duke Hospital for years. She was a woman of unwavering faith, and a loyal servant to her Lord and Savior. She was a member of Lighthouse of God Ministries. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Pollock; her beloved son, Danny Pollock; and four brothers and sisters. She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Deborah Clayton and husband Jerry Clayton, Amanda Porter and husband Brian, one brother, George Murray, and three sisters, Ruby Murray, Lorae Byrd, and Daphine Tingen; her 8 treasured grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her companion of 17 years, Dana Hurley.Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Lighthouse of God Ministries, officiated by Rev. Doug Brown, Rev. Larry Massey, and Rev. Willie Teachey. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be George Murray, Brian Porter, Bruce Clayton, Jerry Clayton, Roger Tingen, and Bud Burks. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home.
