Evelyn Pendergraft Lane

OXFORD Mrs. Evelyn Pendergraft Lane, 86, went to live with her Lord on Saturday, January 7, 2012.Mrs. Lane was of the Baptist faith. She was the widow of Connie Edward Lane. She retired from Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Jessie Pendergraft and sisters, Maxine Rice, Jessie Lee Rigsbee, Louise Bynum and Margaret Davis; one brother, Everett Pendergraft. She loved gardening and flowers.She is survived by a son, Norman Lane of Oxford, who she resided with and one grandchild, Gabrielle A. Lane; one brother, Owen Pendergraft of Durham and two sisters, Violet Rigsbee of Fayetteville and Elaine Braden of BurlingtonA graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Rev. Roger Wall will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. before the service at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable.
