Faye Hewett Tilley

DURHAM Mrs. Faye Althea Hewett Tilley, 81, of Durham, died on Thursday, October 10, 2013. She grew up in Brunswick County, NC and lived her adults years in Durham.  She is the daughter of the late Weldon Dudley Hewett and Edith Mooney Hewett. She was a retired seamstress with Royal Home Fashions. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, her cat “Frazier” and traveling.  Her husband, George S. Tilley, Jr. and a brother, Roger Hewett preceding her in death.

She is survived by her son, George Edward Tilley of Wilmington; two daughters, Shelby Tilley and Gloria Hill (Roger) both of Durham; grandchildren, Kristen Foster (Dave), Ivy Hill, Bryan Hill and a great-grandson, Erik Foster.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 12 noon at Grace Lutheran Church. Burial will in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, prior to the service, in the Grace Lutheran Church sanctuary.
