Floyd Perry Jackson, 85, of Oakland City, Indiana passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024. Floyd was born on June 23, 1938, in Oxford, North Carolina to the late Perry and Ethel Jackson.
Floyd is a native of Robeson County. He attended school in both Roberson and Granville Counties before graduating high school and attending Vance Granville Community College. Floyd was a professional student going to school until he was 70 years old. He was employed as a maintenance technician for IBM until he retired. He received an associates degree from Southern Baptist Theology Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church of Creedmoor, North Carolina, and pastored and preached the Gospel filling in at various churches when called. Floyd also worked part-time for Hudson Funeral Home in Durham, North Carolina.
Floyd is survived by his four children; son, Stanley Jackson (Becky); daughter, Terry Bise (Robert); and daughters, Angela Bringle and Brenda Jackson; and brother, Tommy Jackson; 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren.
Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Ethel Jackson; brother Ralph Jackson, and sister Ruth Critchard.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Hudson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service starting at 11:00 A.M. The Committal Service will follow on the same day at 4:00 P.M. at Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor, NC. The Rev. Hugh O'Shields will officiate.
