Franklin Joseph DellaPia

BURLINGTON- Franklin Joseph Della Pia, 88, was born November 4, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY and died on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 in Burlington, NC. He attended Manistee High School and married his wife, Shirley (nee Jacobsen), on his eighteenth birthday. After enlisting in the Navy, he served in both W WII and the Korean War. Franklin resided in the Lansing area for over 60 years, retiring from Fisher Body. He loved his family, books, movies, history and traveling with his wife. Franklin was preceded in death by his wife Shirley in 1997, daughter Linda in 1971, his parents and siblings, Carolyn and John. He is survived by his children Carole of WI, Cheryl of VA and Frank (Margaret) of NC, as well as five grandchildren and eight grandchildren. Per his request, Frank will be buried, without any service, in Manistee beside his beloved wife of 53 years, Shirley. May they rest in peace together.
