Furman L. Gilliam, Jr.

DURHAM Mr. Furman Linberg “Tinker” Gilliam, Jr., 68, of Durham, died on Wednesday, June 29, 2016.
Mr. Gilliam was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late Furman Linberg Gilliam and Doris Bunn Gilliam. He served in the U. S. Navy and retired from Edward Weck &Company, as a Quality Control Manager. He enjoyed collecting coins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Gilliam; son, Furman Jeffrey Gilliam and brother, William Clifton Gilliam.
He is survived by his son, Kevin Gilliam and spouse, Wayne Moore of Oxford; sister, Tina Gilliam Morris of Durham and two grandchildren, Colin and Cameron Gilliam.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, July 3rd at 2 p.m. at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. Brother Blair Browning, Sr. will officiate.
The family will receive friends and family on Saturday, July 2nd from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Kevin Gilliam, 6025 Hwy 96 N, Oxford NC on Sunday after the service. Flowers are acceptable. Online condolences can be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
