Mrs. Lannie Gaynelle Ellis Currie, age 76, passed away on March 6, 2022.
Gaynelle was born on August 26, 1945 to the late Clyde Madison and Martha Ellen Skeen Ellis. Mrs. Currie was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. She loved to listen to and sing gospel hymns. She enjoyed attending church and the fellowship with everyone there. Gaynelle loved watching her children and grandchildren grow up and supported them by attending school activities and sporting events. She enjoyed going to the beach. When she had free time and in the evenings, she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, word search puzzles and coloring pictures in adult coloring books. She was a big part of the family and loved very much.
Mom, we love you, we will miss you, and you will always be in our thoughts.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Currie was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Rudolph T. Currie, Jr.; son, Richard Currie; sisters, Dale Glosson, Annie Bell Currie, and Elizabeth Rhodes.
Mrs. Currie is survived by her sons, Larry Currie of Pink Hall, NC, and Rudolph Currie III (Karla) of Cherokee, NC; daughters, Jane Beneroso (Nelson) of Rougemont, NC, Lannie Morris (Wayne) of Richmond, TX, and Pam Medlin (Wes) of Franklinton, NC; brothers, Jerry Ellis and Ray Ellis; sisters, Pauline Critcher and Frances Fowler; beloved grandchildren, Dustin Morris, Calista Morris, Jimmy Medlin, Ashely Hahn (Tyler), Jacob Currie (Tamara), Matthew Currie, Lyndsey Currie, Faith Currie, Skyla Currie, Shane Currie, Shelby Wayne Currie, Jordan Beneroso, Morgan Beneroso, Jaime Beneroso, Jason Beneroso, and Isabella Beneroso; as well as 15 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Mitchell Family Cemetery with Pastor James Evans officiating.
Flowers are acceptable.
