George Edward Chappell

DURHAM – Mr. George  Edward Chappell. 77, of Durham died on Saturday, April 5, 2014. He was the son of the late Thomas Yancey Chappell and Lovenia Tilley Chappell.  He was a member of Bible Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Chappell and LeRoy Chappell.

He is survived by his loving wife Glennie Price Chappell, three sons, Larry Chappell of Durham; David Chappell of Durham; and Randy Chappell of Granville Co.; one daughter, Teresa Duke of Rougemont;  three sisters, Mary Magdaline Sams of Durham; Marie Hester of Durham; and Ruby Nance of Durham; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.  Active pallbearers will be Wayne Nance, Wallace Chappell, Linwood Hester, Billy Chappell and Douglas Hester.
