George Thomas Kitchell

DURHAM Mr.George Thomas Kitchell, 89, formerly of Canyon City, Colorado, died on Sunday, September 13, 2015.
Mr. Kitchell was born in Middlebury, Vermont, to the late Orville Kitchell and Maude Oney Kitchell. He served in the U. S. Navy. After being employed at General Electric for 20 years he worked as a CPA until retirement. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Canyon City. He loved golf and playing bridge. He was preceded in death by his wives, Virginia O. Clapper and Lois Bouvier; brother, Clifford Kitchell.
He is survived by his daughter, Leigh Kitchell Turner and husband, John of White, Ga.; two sons, Christopher Kitchell and wife, Natalie of New Hope, Pa, Robert Kitchell and wife, Maria of Durham.; stepson, Kirk E. Vandezande of Toronto, Canada; step-daughter, Lisa V. Peterson and husband, Bob of Ft. Collins, Co.; two brothers, William Kitchell of Vermont and Jerry Kitchell and wife, Karen of Ohio; four grandchildren, Lindsey Campbell, Heather Turner, Barbara Swartz, Dana Kitchell; four step-grandchildren, Luke Vandezande, Rachel Vandezande, Thomas Peterson and Melanie Peterson; three great-grandchildren, Lily Kate Campbell, Charlotte “Charlie” Campbell and Weston Swartz. Services will be held at a later date.
