Geraldine Anderson McCorkle

MCCORKLEDURHAM Mrs. Nancy “Geraldine” Anderson McCorkle, 66, a former resident of Durham, died on Wednesday, March 16, 2011. Mrs. McCorkle had lived in Newport, N.C. for the past 13 years.She was born in Danville, Va., to the late David and Pauline Rebecca Hamilton Anderson. After working for GE for 12 years she was self-employed and ran a delivery service and was a homemaker. She attended Liberty Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son Michael Lee McCorkle.She is survived by her husband, Gerald Wayne McCorkle; four sons, Gerald Wayne McCorkle, Jr. of Rougemont, Kevin Lee McCorkle of Newport, Ronald Shane McCorkle and Barry Keith McCorkle both of Eden; five brothers, Frank Anderson, Oscar Anderson, Troy Anderson, Tony Anderson and David Anderson, Jr.; four sisters, Lorriane Griffin, Emily Waller, Jo Ann Gibson, Christine Harry and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons.The family will receive friends on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable.
