Gerlinde “Linde” Rabl

DURHAM- Gerlinde “Linde” Rabl, 81, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019.

Born in Germany, Linde immigrated to the US at age 14 where she completed her education and worked in New York before moving to NC in 1951. Here she began a career at Murdoch Center that spanned 40 years.

Linde was a compassionate, selfless, loving servant of God. As a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, she taught the Growing In Faith Together class, coordinated NC Baptist on Missions Dental Bus visits, served as the church’s Ronald McDonald liaison and she especially enjoyed working with Awanas and hearing the children read scripture. She was involved in local and international missions including many trips to Honduras and serving with NC Baptists Disaster Relief teams.

Linde is preceded in death by her parents, Josef Karl Sossau and Katharina Rabl.

Surviving are her sister-in-Christ Margaret Cash and cousins Elfriede, Herbert, and Stefan Segal, and Monica Schuster.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Edgewood Baptist Church, 1807 Infinity Rd, Durham, NC 27712, from 9:45-10:45 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor Earl Echols and Dr. David Trump.
