Gerri Wilkins

WILKINSDURHAM Mrs. Gerri Wilkins, 79, of Durham, died on Wednesday, November 16, 2011.Mrs. Wilkins was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late Milton and Eunice Gentry Smith. She attended Oak Grove School. Gerri was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church and the Primetimers. She was a member of the Bethesda Ruritan Club Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie H. Wilkins, step-son, David H. Wilkins and a sister, Shelby Eakes.She is survived by her son, Rodney Tingen and wife, Marilyn of Mebane; two daughters, Linda T. Skipper and husband, Dan of Youngsville and Betsy Jones and husband, Mike of Mooresville; one sister, Joyce Culverwell of Marshallberg, NC; grandchildren, Shawn Skipper (Tabathia), Chris Tingen (Crystal), Josh Skipper (Lindsay), Shay S. White (Jake), Dylan Jones, Delaney Jones and great-grandchildren, Emily and Brady Tingen.Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 pm at Bethesda Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Hugh O’Shields. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Shawn Skipper, Chris Tingen, Josh Skipper, Jake White, Bryant Wilkins and Jimmy Gregory.The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable.
