Granville- Mr. Glenn Eugen Eagle, 91, died on Monday, January 3, 2011 at Rose Manor. He was the son of the late Eli Franklin and Edna Ridenhour Eagle. He worked for Durham Lions Club Industry for the Blind for 30 years. He lived in Durham 52 years and in Granville County for 8 years. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church, also a long time member of Holloway Street Baptist and Angier Avenue Baptist. Mr. Eagle was noted for his chair caning business. He is survived by his wife; Betty Lou Matthews Eagle of Oxford, two sons; Kenney Ray Eagle and wife Gail of Oxford, Mark Franklin Eagle and wife Helen of Durham. Five brothers; Frank Eagle of Salisbury, NC, Steve Eagle of Salisbury, NC, Tony Eagle of Catawba Co., NC, Bob Eagle of Garner, NC, Norman Eagle of Houston, TX. one sister; Susan Waters of Garner, NC. Four grandchildren; Sara Eagle, Courtney Strickland, Matthew Eagle and Adam Eagle. 3 great-grandchildren; Alexis Strickland, Austin Strickland and Anna Cerneal. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Greg Allison will officiate.
