DURHAM- Mr. Graham Clifton Lovitte, 91, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.Mr. Lovitte was born November 11, 1926 in Onslow County to the late Francis and Roney Godwin Lovitte. He worked many years with Comfort Engineers as an Auto Mechanic. Mr. Lovitte retired from Comfort Engineers in 1986. He built utility trailers and Pig Cookers and was known as the “Pig Cooker Man”. Mr. Lovitte loved fishing and hunting and taking care of his donkeys Jack and Jill. Mr. Lovitte proudly served the United States Army in World War II.Mr. Lovitte is preceded in death by his brothers, Francis “Buddy” Lovitte, Clayton Lovitte, Roger Lovitte, Melvin Lovitte.Mr. Lovitte is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Hall Lovitte; brothers, Linwood Lovitte (Linda) of Hurdle Mills, Carl Lovitte of Raleigh; sisters, Katie L. Royster of Richmond, Virginia L. Jones of Cape Carteret, Dorothy L. Lacey of Cape Carteret, Zella L. Ivester (Charlie) of Cary.Pallbearers will be Caleb Hagwood, Jackson Hagwood, Connor Hagwood, Mark Hagwood, Jock Smith, Jerry Jeffries. Honorary pallbearers will be Victor Snipes, Johnny Jeffries, Robbie Hall, Wayne Hall.Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2018 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Elder Cleo Robertson. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. A visitation will be held two hours prior from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to Durham Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Larry Byrd 715 N 9th Street Mebane, NC 27302.
