Gwendolyn Alease Wilson

DURHAM Mrs. Gwendolyn Alease Wilson, 91 a former resident of Durham, died on Sunday, August 18, 2013. Mrs. Wilson was born in Durham to the late Marvin McGhee and Mina Clements McGhee. She was a member of Braggtown Baptist Church. She regularly attended the Durham Community Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Wilson; sons, Charles Edward Herndon, Marvin Ray Herndon and John Wayne Herndon and a sister Wanda M. Green. She is survived by her sister, Phyllis Hoffman of Lincolnton; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Norman Stallings. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.Memorial gifts may be made to the Presbyterian House of Hawfields, 2502 N. Carolina 119, Mebane NC 27302 to the Activities Dept.
