DURHAM Mrs. Hallie Kerr Craig, 93, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016.
Born in Durham, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Lee Craig, her parents, Lee Owen Kerr and Melda Keith Kerr, and three brothers and five sisters.
As a young lady she began working at Western Union and continued there for 43 years, followed by assisting her husband as a bookkeeper in his business at Garland Woodcraft Company.
Hallie believed with certainty in her Christian faith.
She is survived by her three children, Linda Craig Daniel, Harriette Craig-Neghabat, and Sidney Keith Craig as well seven grandchildren, Bill Collins, Jennifer Collins, Cameron Craig, Alexander Craig (Alexandra), Elizabeth Craig Juarez (Tomas), Skyler Craig Mahjoubian (Kirk) and Sean Craig; three great-grandchildren, Seth Collins, Caitlin Stelk and Rosalee Craig.
During many years as an active member of Angier Avenue Baptist Church, she worked with the youth. More recently Hallie has worshiped at Olive Branch Baptist Church.
The visitation will be held on Saturday, March 19 at 10:00 a.m. followed by the 11:00 a.m. chapel service at Hudson Funeral Home, officiated by the Reverend Tim Wheeler. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Cameron Craig, Alexander Craig, Bill Collins, Seth Collins, Steve Smith and Randy Smith.
