DURHAM- Mr. Harold Aziona Vaughan, 88, of Durham Ridge Assisted Living, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Hock Family Pavilion.
Mr. Vaughan was born October 5, 1930 to the late Edward and Mollie Vaughan in Durham, NC. Mr. Vaughan enjoyed fishing, bingo and playing the lottery. It was known, Harold could not miss an episode of “The Price is Right”. Harold never met a stranger he did not like. He loved children and enjoyed showing them tricks. He will be remembered as a charming and funny man who loved his children and animals.
Mr. Vaughan is preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years, Georgia Brantley Williams Vaughan; parents, 1 son, 6 brothers, and 1 sister.
Mr. Vaughan is survived by his sons, Gene Vaughn (Joan) and Larry Vaughan; daughters, Vanessa Demetriades (Gus), Teressa Gramer (Glenn); 6 grandchildren; a very special and caring “granddaughter” Jennifer Williams; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and numerous other family members.
The family is thankful for the excellent care given by Hock Family Pavilion and for the prayer shawl.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2019 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held two hours prior from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Hugh O’ Shields. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
