Harvey Rorie

DURHAM-Mr. Harvey Warren Rorie, 85, of Durham died on Sunday, March 13, 2011. He was the son of the late Bonnie and Mary Rorie. He was in the Navy WW II. Mr. Rorie retired from the Postal Service after 41 years of service. He was on The Board of Directors of Postal Credit Union and a member of Columbus Club of Durham and of the Presbyterian faith. He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Rorie.He is survived by his wife, Pearl Seagroves Rorie; 1 son, Delmer Rorie of Raleigh; 1 brother, Tommy R. Rorie of Rockhill; 2 sisters, Gladys Chasak of Florida; Connie Roghelia of Durham; 1 grandson, Austin Rorie, 1 granddaughter, Blair Brown (husband) Justin; 2 great-grandchildren, Carter and Cooper Brown; 1 daughter-in-law, Debra Rorie.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Dr. Ralph Holt will officiate. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home.
