Hazel Lovell Carroll

HURDLE MILLS Mrs. Hazel Iona Lovell Carroll, 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 2, 2016.
Mrs. Carroll was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late Benjamin Curtis Lovell and Hettie Ethel Evans Lovell. She retired after 17 years with Burlington Industries as an Inspector. She was a member of Cornerstone Community Church. She loved to read her bible and enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sammy Carroll; brother, Larry Lovell; sisters, Alice Bostic and Mary Lovell.
She is survived by her son Robbie Mathis and wife, Donna of Hurdle Mills; grand-daughter, Jody Rutledge and husband, Josh; three special nieces, Sue Lynam, Deborah Wadford and Theresa Freeman; nephew, Marvin “Bud” Bostic; great-grandchild, Kaible Rutledge.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Phil Clark and Mr. Kenneth Appel will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home.
