Hazel Katherine Briggs

DURHAM Mrs. Hazel Katherine Briggs, 95, of Durham, died on Monday, November 09, 2015.
Mrs. Briggs owned and operated Durham Upholstery for many years and was a Durham native for 60 years. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Durham. She loved to sew, cook and was a fashion queen, who loved to be in style. She was predeceased by her husband, William Herman Briggs; son, Marvin Herman Briggs; daughter, Darcell Bradley; granddaughter, Dana Briggs and two brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her daughter, Donnie Sykes and husband, Jake of Wake Forest; brother, Jasper Mangum of Durham; sister, Jenene Raynor of Oxford; grandchildren, Chris Briggs, Dorenda Michalina, Angie Perry, Lisa Wiggs, Tammy Lawrence and Brockie Bradley; 12 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Pastor Brad Wiggs and Pastor Dean Perry will officiate. Entombment will be in the Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Larry Mangum, Todd Michalina, Steve Dickerson, Jeramy Lawrence and Kerry Freeman.
