Helen Janice McKinnon

DURHAM- Mrs. Helen Janice McKinnon, 79, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019.

Mrs. McKinnon was born March 9, 1939 to Arvie and Lillian Davis in Rockingham, NC. Janice loved gardening, bird watching, and was lovingly known as Mama Janice. She loved her Lord and was a member of Smiths Chapel Baptist Church. Mrs. McKinnon will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt.

Mrs. McKinnon is preceded in death by her parents, Arvie and Lillian Davis; brothers, Harold Ray Nealy, AJ Davis; sister, Annie Davis.

Mrs. McKinnon is survived by her husband, Donald Edward McKinnon; daughters, Cindy Roberts (Vic) of Durham, NC, Shelby Barbour (Robert) of Timberlake, NC, Kelly Bennett (Eric) of Wendell, NC; brother, Edward McCrae Davis of Wake Forest, NC; sisters, Brenda Davis Barbour (Ray) of Durham, NC, Linda Buckingham (Ken) of Arden, NC; grandchildren, Rebecca Roberts, Emily Roberts, Kaitlyn Tyner, Dean Clark, Samantha Barbour, Chad Barbour; great-grandchildren, Waylon, Cash, Paisley, and Cailey.

A visitation will be held Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held Monday, February 18, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Chaplain Cheryl McNair. Pallbearers will be Chad Barbour, Ray Barbour, Robert Barbour, Dean Clark, Eric Bennett, and Will Pendelton. Honorary pallbearers are Vic Roberts and Ray Barbour, Jr. Burial to follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Flowers are acceptable. Online condolences can be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
